I provide face-to-face and online therapy in Mission Valley, Fashion Valley, downtown San Diego, Hillcrest, La Jolla, Linda Vista, El Cajon, North Park, Del Mar, Carlsbad, and Solana Beach, and throughout California.

As a dually licensed Clinical Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist, I am highly trained to help individuals (ages 18+), couples, and families identify and work through:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Burnout
  • Fear
  • Conflict
  • Loss
  • Life transitions and stressors
  • Overwhelming emotions

Treatment involves a customized combination of:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • This approach assumes that our thoughts impact our emotions and decisions.
  • The therapist helps you identify how your negative thoughts are hurting you.
  • You learn specific exercises to identify your hurtful thoughts and patterns, use new coping skills, and make healthier choices.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • DBT is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy.
  • Its main goals are to:
  • Teach you to live in the moment.
  • Manage difficult and overwhelming emotions.
  • Develop healthy ways to cope with stress.
  • Improve your relationships.

Narrative Therapy

  • This approach is based on the assumption that we each have a unique story based on our life experiences.
  • A trained therapist helps you:
  • Examine the stories you tell yourself.
  • Identify the purpose they’ve served and which ones may be hurting you.
  • Create new, healthier stories that build on your inner strengths.

Psychodynamic, Insight-Oriented Therapy

  • We will use self-examination and self-reflection to help you learn more about what you want and need from yourself and others.

Supporting the Diversity and Clarity You Want

A supporter of racial and cultural diversity

My diverse experiences and background have helped me work with and help people around the world. As a result of living overseas during my childhood and then serving in the U.S. Marines, I have worked with people from all over the world. I understand the challenges that come with change.

Members of Black, Asian, Hispanic, and minority communities seek me out because they want diversity in treatment, perspectives, and experiences.

Soldier holding military cap

An ally of military members, veterans, and families

I am a US Marine veteran. I served during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. That is where my focus on and experience with PTSD began.

Active duty members, veterans, military families (including military brats), and members of the military community seek me out because I’m committed to helping them work through the struggles of this life. I understand this life and the hard choices that come with it.

An advisor and guide for high achievers and entrepreneurs

When you are working toward professional and business success, you’re constantly dealing with stress and anxiety. There are fears about succeeding, failing, being an imposter, feeling alone, and being misunderstood. You worry about your health and how you can balance the different areas of your life.

Successful, driven, high achievers and entrepreneurs seek me out to help them identify the fears and concerns impacting their thinking, decision making, and leadership. They also want a trusted advisor to help with the depression and anxiety entrepreneurs often deal with.
